The Art & Importance of Letting Go

We may oftentimes forget that our human body, mind, and spirit are the only real gifts we really have to experience (the best of) life. But, losing connection with ourselves can take us further away from truly realizing and feeling the freedom and love that we were meant to witness in our lives.

Today, most of this disconnection with our deeper selves can be attributed to all the excessive stress that inevitably comes with our busy schedules. Some of the sources of stress in our lives can be the pressures of our work life, dealing with various people on a daily basis, managing future goals, and more.

Although this might seem normal for a while, over time, the increasing stress can be detrimental to our overall health, well-being, and quality of life.

And, this is exactly where and why “Letting Go” comes into the picture.

In the context of improving the relationship you have with yourself and others, letting go literally means letting go of the things that are holding you back enough to not let you heal and grow.

The Importance of Letting Go

What is the use of your (troubled) past if it doesn’t help you become a stronger, more understanding, and more appreciative being? But you can only become the best version of yourself if you can filter out the hurt and pain from the lessons that are essential to your growth and prosperity. Basically, you need to understand and accept that your life is good but can be a lot better if you can learn to let go of the things that are holding you back.

Thus, the main importance of letting go is actually finally deciding that no matter where you are or what you’ve been through in life, you’re now ready to move on and become the best version of yourself. However, one should also understand that truly letting go is a process and doesn’t happen overnight—even though the decision to do so can happen in an instance. Like most of the best things that are free to experience, you need to put in some work to achieve it.
